Tere Bin Laden is a wacked out satire. The movie is Directed and written by Abhishek Sharma. Starring- Pradhuman Singh, Ali Zafar, Piyush Mishra and Sugandha Garg. It is a a high-wit low-budget comedy. Lead Actor Ali Zafar has considerable screen presence. His comic timing can put some desi khans to shame, he secrets a sharp sense of enjoyment.

Storyline-A small pakistani reporter wants to grab highlights, he dreams of a bite from Big Apple. So in order to do so, he sends a tape to Goerge Bush. The tape consists an Osama lookalike threatening mayhem in the US. The director has combined poultry jokes with globally-significant comments, it is an achievement. The actors portray some serious fun in the movie.

Pradhuman Singh is playing the role of Osama Bin Laden, he seems to have fun biting the bait.The script has good sense of fun.The movie's main attraction is Osama-Bin-Laden. Rating-2/5.

Raavan

Every one was excited about the most talked flick of Mani Ratnam Raavan because the promos arose a kind of sensation among the people.It is well known that Mani's movies are not merely an experience, it's an event. Raavan is a modern-day version of 'Ramayana' whose screenplay was penned by Mani himself. The story movies in that way the cop (Vikram) who has been chasing Beera (Abhishek Bachchan) a tribal has kidnapped his wife (Aishwarya) and the battle starts between good and evil.

Between Ram and Raavan,Mani has also included the part from Ramayana where Goddess Sita has to give Agni Pareeksha same is with Aishwarya when her husband asks her to appear for a polygraph test to prove her chastity/fidelity.Some of the times Raavan is going to remind you the memories of the movie Jungle.If you are expecting some liveliness then you would be really disappointed to know that first half is really dull. Govinda's role is also not effective.

In other words Raavan is a king size disappointment, the factors that really pulls the film down are the madness of Beera he is like a psycho that really makes a mockery of the character itself. The make up has made the entire team look repulsive, the script is weak and as far as the plus points are concerned the main worth is A.R.Rahman's music very melodious and excellent, Santosh Sivan's cinematography creates magic.The dialogues of Vijay Krishna Acharya's hit you.

On the whole Raavan has got red as it is not for enough to reach up the expectations of people.

Their short cut works out and soon they start playing with money, this makes Shahid egoistic, he leaves behind his mates but when totally caught up by situation he came to realize how wrong was he? Well this movie makes a merry viewing for you.

Shahid Kapoor does manage to hold your attention in certain sequences, but essentially it's the ensemble cast of Anushka Sharma, Meiyang Chang and Vir Das that creates most of the drama. Music is given by Pritam well all an all a god movie for a perfect chill and one time watch.Songs are also good but not chart busters.

No, it's not a copy of these two films, but a home appliance is used by the spirits to convey their message.

13B moves around you in the proceedings and most essential part is that it scares you as well. 13B is stretched and takes its own time to come to the point.

Manohar the character played by R. Madhavan, is an upwardly mobile middle class Indian, moves into a new apartment '13B' on the 13th floor with his family. From the very first day in their new home, strange things starts happening in the family.

Director of the film has executed the material well. Dialogues are pedestrian. Music from Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is more of an intrusion. R.Madhavan does a commendable job. Neetu Chandra is alright. Poonam Dhillon is just okay. Sachin Khedekar is wasted. Dhrtiman Chatterjee, is first-rate.

On the whole, 13B is interesting in some parts only. At the box-office the film proved to be a scary proposition for its investors.

The Bollywood singer-cum-composer-cum-songwriter-cum-actor Himesh Reshammiya had put up a decent performance in KARZZZZ after his disastrous acting debut with Aap Ka Suroor. The movie Radio is directed by Isshaan Trivedi and it got released on 3 December, 2009.

The film also features Sonal Sehgal and Snenaz Treasuryvala. The movie starts off in a way similar to Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone's film Love Aaj Kal that began with a break up, whereas, Radio has a divorce starting the proceedings.

Sonal Sehgal and Snenaz Treasuryvala are the two actresses who will earn more fame from the film. There's more of commentary in th flick than action. The song 'Maan ka radio...' which has been making waves for the last few months does not get even a decent footage.

Paresh Rawal's role in the film seems to be a case of a last moment addition in the script. Half of the movie is shot showcasing on R J Vivan (Himesh Reshammiya) in the Radio Mirchi Studios. The movie didn't have any genius plot. The second half of the film doesn't stand strong enough.

Somehow Radio is complicated. Himesh you have switch on to wrong frequency this time...

De Dana Dan

Priyadarshan knows the exact doze for laughter. With his latest comedy release De Dana Dan with a gang of Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Sameera Reddy.
For supporting roles Neha Dhupia, Asrani, Johnny Lever, Manoj Joshi, Chunkey Pandey, Archana Puran Singh, Aditi Govitrikar, Sharat Saxena and Rajpal Yadav were casted.
It's all madness, full on masti, a perfect entertainer; it’s a comedy of errors based on mistaken identities. For De Dana Dan the full credit should go to its crispy and crunchy script laced with punchy dialogues from Jay Master and Priyadarshan has executed the film with his masterly skill that makes the movie a real rollercoaster ride.

Akshay Kumar again adds charm to his character. Sunil Shetty is okay while Paresh Rawal and Manoj Joshi bring the house up and down. Katrina Kaif, Sameera Reddy and Aditi Govitrikar are more of eye candies, though Neha Dhupia does get to shoot off a few smutty dialogues.

With all this we can conclude that De Dana Dan is the best comedy of errors that we have seen in Bollywood after a long long time. Don't sit at home go and get loaded with fun now.

The jokes in the flick may appear silly, but who cares. As long as there's a smile on the face even after the show has ended, nothing else matters. All The Best:Fun Begins is one of those films which is made with the motive to keep the audiences entertained.

Fardeen Khan has played the role of Veer who is a singer by profession, and brother to Sanjay Dutt, who plays Dharam, a business-honcho. Like his previous films, Rohit Shetty's story is based on multiple characters.

But even with so many characters, the film tends to be free from complications. All The Best:Fun Begins is all about mistaken identities. Alongwith Rohit Shetty, Robin and Yunus have put in lot of effort to make the script watchable. Also Pritam's musical score is uninspiring and the songs act as speed breakers.

Sanjay Dutt plays his part well. The show-stopper is undoubtedly Ajay Devgan, whose comic timing is only getting better. Fardeen Khan has made a sincere attempt. Bipasha Basu is sweet, while Mugdha is just okay. Johny Lever and Sanjay Mishra are seen in terrific form. Mukesh Tiwari, Vijay Patkar, Ashwini Kalsekar and Atul Parchure lend credible report.

On the whole, All The Best:Fun Begins has unlimited laughter doze.

Aladin

Govinda plays a rich husband who is married to Sushmita Sen. At the same time Govinda also has been having an affair with Lara Dutta who plays Dolly's character who is an item queen who has dumped her ex (Sohail Khan) for greener pastures. Govinda’s kicked out butler Nandu (Rajpal Yadav) in an attempt to get back at him clicks a photo of him with Dolly and sends it to his wife.

When you enter a film like Do Knot Disturb, logic should be the last thing on your mind. In the movie you will see a two timing husband who is no more a novelty on screen and Govinda and David Dhawan have churned out many films revolving around this theme earlier. But this time they have failed together.

Nadeem Shravan’s music is dated like the film’s jokes barring the Bebo number. Sets are gaudy and camerawork functional. Govinda can create a laugh riot amongst the audiences if he decides to do so but in this flick in some comic sequences the actor has lost his humor.

Ritesh Deshmukh on the other side is much subdued and likeable as the greedy waiter. Lara Dutta looks great and with her acting she has displayed good flair for comedy. Sushmita Sen is hardly there in the first half and is not seen in the second right till the climax.

Ranvir Shorey is funny but skips to tickle your laughter bone. Sohail Khan’s character could have been developed more as he is genuinely funny in his angry moments. Rajpal Yadav and Manoj Pahwa manage a few laughs. Rituparna Sengupta hardly gets any scope.

Do Knot Disturb is a comeback of the No.1 series trio of producer Vashu Bhagnani, director David Dhawan and Govinda but alas they need to work more this time !!

Wanted overpowers DBH

Salman Khan who looked fresh and danced amazingly like never before, shot action sequences and fast paced narrative did not disappoint the audiences like most big banner films in the recent past did.

Much against popular trade belief that Wanted is only a single-screen film, the film did decent business at most multiplexes as well with the audiences in. While most films show a slump in the business Monday onwards, it was exactly the opposite in case of Wanted.

Aamras takes one back to the fun-filled carefree days of life when one does not have anything to worry about. Writer-director Rupali Guha is quite impressive in the first half but loses track in the second portion of the film.

An ordinary story based on four friends Jiya (Vega), Pari (Natasha), Rakhi (Maanvi) and Sanya (Aanchal), who belong to different family backgrounds and study together in the same school.

They stand for each other in their tough times. The story goes well unless Rupali brings in a romantic twist, which makes Aamras any regular run-of-mill film. It’s a youth-centric film.

Vega, Natasha, Maanvi and Aanchal are perfect for their roles. Ajay Singh Choudhury is nothing to do the film. Zarina Wahab and Reema, Sunil Sinha and Manoj Pahwa are good. On the whole, Aamras is fairly a good film.

Bachelor Party

Nakul Vaid plays his part very well and has proved his worth. Sushant Singh doesn't get scope, but nonetheless leaves an impact. Sharbani Mukerjee has transformed herself well for this part. Sonali Kulkarni gets a right role. Aditya Srivastava is competent. Govind Namdeo is first-rate. Sameer Dharmadhikari just okay. Uttam Haldar is proficient.

On the whole, Mohandas is a well-intentioned, well-made film, but it will have a tough time standing on its feet due to lack of face-value and also multiple releases. Still, you must see the film....

The director has placed all themes so perfectly, that his direction proves that Vishal is a master storyteller. With the film Shahid Kapur has already taken a big step towards stardom. Priyanka Chopra is now the top-most listed actress. Amole Gupte is outstanding. Tenzing Nima and Chandan Roy Sanyal leave a solid impression.

What does make "Love Khichdi" interesting at junctures is the entire 'talking to the camera' narrative that the director applies. The film projects at what a man and a woman would think about the same situation.

The film though eventually boils down to be the show reel for the lead couple Randeep and Sadaa. Sadaa gets maximum footage and does complete justice to her part in her debut Bollywood film. She is beautiful, confident and her experience in films down south shows. On the whole, Love Khichdi may not be the perfect health diet but is decent enough to be a one time watch. Too many parallel tracks spoil the script. The main characters of the film are Randeep Hooda, Sonali Kulkarni, Rituparna Sengupta, Divya Dutta, Riya Sen, Kalpana Pandit.

Tezaab the hindi movie that released on November 11, 1988, gave actress Madhuri Dixit her first big break, and Anil Kapoor's got successful after doing Mr India (1987). The film was directed by N. Chandra. Music was given by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. The film was also known for the song Ek Do Teen, which was a chart success. The dance style in the song became a permanent feature in almost all of Madhuri's later films.

Tezaab was a violent love story in which Anil Kapoor is was characterised as a good boy, but due to certain circumstances starts doing bad deeds in life. Madhuri is the victim of an insensitive, abusive father.

Anil Kapoor won the Filmfare Best Actor Award, while Dixit was nominated for Best Actress. Alka Yagnik won the Filmfare Best Female Playback Award for the film.

The story of the film Tezaab was run-of-the-mill. It was the treatment and presentation that set the film apart.

Luck- Movie Review

The first half of the film Luck is merely devoted to character introductions though none are convincingly established. Sanjay Dutt repeats his gun-toting act, moving around in sherwani, jackets and a French beard in the company of black-suited bodyguards. What more, even his name isn't any different - Musa.

Ram Mehra (Imran Khan) has to repay the 20 crores that his late father had lost in stock market. Retired Major Jawar Pratap Singh (Mithun Chakravarthy) has the same conflict that Amitabh Bachchan had in Kaante - needs money for his ailing wife. For the neighbouring country connection, the script takes a Shortcut (Chitrashi Rawat). The best is yet to come! When a loose noose fails to hang rapist Raghav (Ravi Kishen) to death, he is officially set free by the law.

The group is hand-picked by Tamang (Danny) for Musa who indulges into the most synchronized corny conversations in the film. As he gets the team to South Africa, Musa makes them aim on each other at point blank range (in a scene directly lifted from 13 Tzameti) and only peripheral characters from the circle are subtracted.

The opening and ending action sequences by Allan Amin are convincingly choreographed but the intermediate stunts appear too artificial. The director tries to cover up the patchiness of the action by Santosh Thundiyil's erratic camerawork but it only disturbs more. The emotional connect with viewer is certainly missing despite director Soham Shah's repeated attempts to induce sentiments.

Sanjay Dutt's screen presence in the film is equivalent to Akshay Kumar contribution to Fear Factor minus his stunts. Imran Khan gives a decent performance though he can go easy on his lip movements. Shruti Hassan is synthetic and fails to impress. Danny is better amongst others but his character is short-lived in the second half. Ravi Kishen, Mithun and Chitrashi are passable.

The script of the film relies too much on coincidental luck. Director Soham Shah rubs too hard on luck but at the same time stresses on the adage that 'the only thing certain about luck is it's going to change'. On that thought here's wishing him better luck next time!

Agyaat -Film by Ram Gopal Verma

The musical, full of drama and romance filled 1965 released movie Guide is considered as one of the masterpieces of the Indian film industry and the film was made by the famous bollywood director Vijay Anand, younger brother of epitome of the suave, urban gentleman Dev Anand.

The film is based on the critically acclaimed novel, The Guide, by R. K. Narayan. The film proved to be a box office hit upon release. This movie proved memorable for its award-winning performances by the lead actors and memorable music by S. D. Burman.

The film was screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007, 42 years after its release. Guide is remarkable for the manner in which it depicts the relationship between Raju and Rosie, a relationship which has no place in respectable society of that time.

A live-in relationship is not something that filmmakers want to touch even today. The film also showcases the throbbing chemistry between Rosie and the Guide.

Their growing proximity and intimacy is brought out beautifully by the director. This is probably the first film where Dev Anand has shrugged off his nonchalant air and acted like a man driven by passion and compassion.

Dev Anand's Raju is a very real character, very human. Waheeda Rehman is equally bewitching in her portrayal of Rosie, a woman who breaks away from the stifling prison of her marriage with the help of her lover and carves a career out for herself. It was a daring role but also one which had tremendous scope for performance and Waheeda made the best use of it.

Waheeda's dance to Lata Mangeshkar's 'Aaj phir jeene ki tamanna hai,' is memorable even today because of her presence, Lata's voice, SD Burman's music and the superb way in which the song is conceived and shot. Waheeda's performance too won her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for Guide.

The music for this film was composed by Sachin Dev Burman and the songs were sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar and Sachin Dev Burman. The film is remarkable and memorable even today for so many reasons, beginning with its unconventional theme, its music and its actors.

In the accused box of the courtroom, stands a man, startled and shocked that destiny could lead him there. He is accused of the most heinous crime - molesting his lady-boss. Raj Malhotra (played by Akshay Kumar), who works for a cell phone company, is popular amongst his circle of friends and work colleagues. But his world comes crashing down when he meets Sonia (Priyanka Chopra) again.

Aitraaz belongs to Priyanka Chopra completely. No two opinions on that! Be it her first appearance or the sequence, Priyanka did full justice to her character in the film.

Kareena has a sugar-and-sweet character till the pre-climax and she does it well. Akshay Kumar underplays his character ably. Amrish Puri is alright. The theme of the movie is extremely provocative. Himesh Reshammiya's music sounds pleasant to the ears. Cinematography is first-rate. On the whole, Aitraaz is a well-crafted thriller.....

Masoom is a 1983 Indian film and Shekhar Kapur's first directorial venture. The critically acclaimed film starred Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi, Supriya Pathak and Saeed Jaffrey, as well as child actors Jugal Hansraj and Urmila Matondkar. The screenplay and dialogues were written by Gulzar and the music was contributed by R.D. Burman. The plot was broadly based on Man, Woman and Child written by Erich Segal. Shekhar Kapoor the director of the movie went on to make several other internationally acclaimed movies in the future like, Bandit Queen and Elizabeth.

Through the medium of the film, the director makes a strong statement that eventually it is the unwanted child who is the real victim of an extra-marital affair. Hence the title of the film, for Masoom means the innocent one.

This Hindi social drama stars Naseerudin Shah as a family man whose everyday domestic life is turned upside down when he discovers that he has an illegitimate child (Jugal Hansraj) from an affair with a past mistress. When the boy's mother dies, he is sent to live with his father. The child's father attempts to hide the truth from his own daughters, but the past eventually catches up with him.

The director opens the film with a brief backgrounder of the boy Rahul whose mother has died and an old headmaster is the only one who this boy can call his own. After the credits have rolled, the second shot is actually the stealer where the family portrait of Naseer’s family is lying on a table and a stray puppy comes and breaks it. This shot establishes the premise of the film. One outsider can disturb the harmony of the this family.

Naseeruddin Shah is a brilliant actor. Shabana’s act of a Punjabi south Delhi housewife Indu Malhotra is par excellence. Many would know by now, the children played by Aradhana (Mini), Urmila Matondkar (Pinky) and Jugal Hansraj (Rahul) completely thaw your heart. These are children, people our age can relate to.

Love Aaj Kal

New York

New York opens around 7 years after the 9/11 attacks with Omar (Neil Mukesh) being wrongly held captive by the FBI. Investigating officer Roshan (Irrfan Khan) offers to go easy on Omar if he agrees to spy on old-time friend Sameer (John Abraham) who the FBI suspects to be a terrorist.

In contrast, Sameer himself narrates his distressing past to Omar of how he was illegally detained and brutally tortured by the FBI for 9 months, immediately after 9/11 and victimized for being a Muslim suspect in New York.

The terrorism theme comes into picture predominantly in the second half. The physical and mental abuse on innocent Muslims, imprisoned merely on suspicion and their consequent repercussions are effectively portrayed.

But beyond that Aditya Chopra's story doesn't work towards the rehabilitation of the disturbed mind that has taken to the wrong path. In a way, the film turns the villain into more of an antihero imparting him no character change. Above that the climax where the FBI headquarters is held as the terrorist target doesn't go beyond Fanaa frontiers. The terrorist is terminated but the topic of terrorism it tackles keeps long lingering.

All the three lead protagonists of New York are Muslims affected by the 9/11 episode in varied ways and to different degrees. Sameer turns a scapegoat of the situation; Omar's identity gets him in trouble, while Roshan's character (a Muslim investigating on terrorism) offers that ray of hope prevailing amidst discriminating humankind.

The issue of global terrorism somewhere goes for a toss with the film turning into a human emotion drama. As the victim is released from prison and his atrocities are still fresh in your mind, the intensity of his trauma is diluted with a love song stuffed in. The couple further goes on to make love and start a family. More mush comes into picture as Omar confesses his campus feelings to the married Maya (Katrina Kaif) amidst the pre-climax mayhem. Thankfully the traditional Yash Raj triangle is averted. The side-track of a frustrated Muslim driver (Nawazuddin) committing suicide doesn't contribute to the plot and could have been avoided.

John Abraham does well in his frail characterization which could have been much more convincing, intense and effective. Neil Nitin Mukesh looks rehearsed in some scenes but doesn't disappoint. Irrfan Khan never misses any punch in his lines and is as expressive as ever. Katrina Kaif doesn't get the meatier portion and contributes to the sloppy effect.

You just wish the film had a lot more grit, the characters had a lot more depth and the treatment had a lot more sensitivity. Alas New York fails to break new grounds on that note.

Khan is arrested as a suspected terrorist in post - 9/11 Los Angeles after authorities mistake his disability for "suspicious" behavior. After his arrest, he meets Radha (Sheetal Menon), a therapist who helps him.

The music is given by Shankar –Ehsaan –Loy and the music is impressive just like any other films of Karan Johar. The performance of the character artists in the film is very impressive. Although Shabana Azmi left the role of the mother of Shahrukh Khan after being cast initially, Zarina Wahab did do well in the film.

In a nutshell it can be said that the film is going to be a big hit inspite of the negative factors.

Anubhav-Not a pleasant experience to undergo

The story goes like this, Anubhav (Sanjay Suri), Antara (Shruthi Seth) and Aadi (Anoop Menon) are products of the Bombay theatre academy who nurture big Bollywood dreams. But reality soon dawns upon them that those dreams are not to easy to fulfill.

Anubhav during his struggling mission encounters Meera (Gul Panag) who excitedly declares that she is his fan. Both fall in love with each other and get married much to Meera’s rich parents’ wishes.

The theatre guru Ibrahim Vakil (Jackie Shroff) now becomes their sole patron. The film starring Anubhav in the main lead gets stuck midway owing to an untimely demise of their producer.

The basic premise of the film is really interesting since its topical and such things do happen in present times in Bollywood. But once the situations are established and Anubhav turns a male prostitute, the film losses its way.

You also stop caring much about the characters and simply can’t relate to them. Then there is this melodramatic angle forcibly thrown in about Anubhav’s new born daughter’s illness and how Gul Panag thinking their daughter is dead. Some of the dialogues narrated by Sanjay Suri are simply cringe worthy. Agreed the film may be inspired from real life sequences but why be so direct? Was it that important.

Aadesh Srivastava’s music is plain ordinary. Amongst the actors only Gul Panag delivers while Sanjay Suri with his limited set of expressions just doesn’t. Jackie Shroff is simply wasted whereas Shruti Seth, Raj Zutshi and Sudha Chandran hardly have meat in their roles. Anoop Menon is fair.

Having suffered this Anubhav we would like to tell you that it is not really a pleasant experience to under go. Think before you watch the film.

Rafoo Chakkar-Pathetic Comedy

Rafoo Chakkar is a painful, boring, crude, trashy, brainless comedy. And it’s not funny; it makes you yawn all the time. It only shows a typical low class comedy.

This pathetic chakkar starts with Millie and Julie (Nisha and Nauheed) who run away from home because they do not want to get married. Similarly, Pappu and Munnu( Yudi and Aslam) escape for the same reason. These four meet in Mumbai and fall in love, when they were supposed to get married to each other in the first place.

Besides making a mockery of funny films, it also mocks marriage and death. The scenes involving death are handled insensitively. The performances are terrible, more so because the characters are silly. Archana Puran Singh and Mita Vashisht have made utter fools of themselves and their action sequences are hard to believe. Nisha Rawal, last seen in Serendipity’s awful rip-off Hastey Hastey, has no screen presence whatsoever and cannot act. Nauheed Cyrusi is strictly ok.

Yudi was a popular VJ on Channel V and his TV shows had better scripts than Rafoo Chakkar. He does not look awkward in front of the camera. Aslam Khan has an annoying and stupid character and his expressions are totally blank.

Shakti Kapoor and Sadashiv Amrapurkar haven’t been seen in a long time. The performances of the characters looks outdated. The pre-climax scene has been ripped off cult comedy Andaz Apna Apna, which ironically starred Shakti Kapoor as the memorable Crime Master Gogo. The music by Lalit Pandit (of Jatin-Lalit) is bad, the camerawork is messy.

Rafoo Chakkar is a 2 hour long drag. If people are still willing to see the movie I suggest them to stay awake!!!

Suno Na..Ek Nanhi Awaaz

Suno Na..Ek Nanhi Awaaz is boring to the point of driving you nuts. Although the pretext picked is fine, its implementation leaves you wondering what director Amy Thanawala is upto. The film casts Tara Sharma, Dharmendra Gohil, Rinku Patel, Avinash Tiwari.

An unwed mother facing all odds to bring her baby into the world : that, in a nutshell, is the story of ‘Suno Na, Ek Nanhi Awaaz’. Tara Sharma’s pleasant persona is drowned by her one-track delivery And the baby-who-talks-from-the-womb, clearly inspired by the ‘Look Who’s Talking’ movies, is a major irritant.

To cut long story short, girl decides to live, moves to Mumbai to stay at her friend's place and surprisingly, every boy falls in love with her. The friend in whose house she lives, who is single, has no one falling in love with her!

In the end, she delivers a child. A professor falls in love with her and her parents too reach in time for her delivery. In between all this, you are subjected to the director's perplexed state of mind.

SUNO NA, just forget about this!

Expect the unexpected in A Wednesday. From the writing point of view to the execution of the written material, writer-director Neeraj Pandey never takes the been-there-seen-that route even once.

A Wednesday offered you twist after twist, throwed down challenge after challenge in those 1.30 hours. No sub-plots, no songs, no unwanted masala, no unnecessary tracks, A Wednesday has a story to tell and it tells most effectively.

The editor (Shree Narayan Singh) deserves lavish praises for giving shape to this thriller. During the finale specifically Anupam is driving towards the location, while Naseer is packing his stuff the parallel scenes are juxtaposed brilliantly. The background score (Sanjay Chowdhury) is stirring.

Naseeruddin Shah has delivered several remarkable performances over the decades and the one in A Wednesday easily makes its way into his Top 5 works when you recall his body of work.

Anupam Kher is equally dynamic. If there's one actor who could stand up to a giant of an actor, it's Anupam Kher. An outstanding performance indeed!

Every performance in A Wednesday is charged. Jimmy Sheirgill is first-rate as a volatile cop. Aamir Bashir is superb. Again, this actor has never got his due in feature films. It's our loss, not his! Deepal Shaw plays her part confidently.

Chetan Pandit, as the Chief Minister, is effective. Ditto for the actor who plays the main terrorist Kali Prasad Mukherjee. On the whole, A Wednesday is cinema at its best.

It may not be a Kinng-sized entertainer to lure the audiences in hordes and set the box-office afire, but A Wednesday does pack in king-sized punch. Do yourself a favour Watch A Wednesday if you have missed it.

Dev D is one such flight of fancy from the filmmaker that definitely defies all conventions and demolishes all moulds. The director of the film Anurag Kashyap has always been a contrarian filmmaker, consciously steering away from traditional Bollywood with films like Black Friday, Paanch, No Smoking.

Dev D is like that heady cocktail which has the vodka pitched perfectly with the tang. Set against the rich rural backdrop of Punjab and Paharganj (Delhi), the film traces the self-destructive sojourn of a young, contemporary hero who mirrors the existential angst of the proverbial outsider, made legendary in the writings of Satre, Camus, Kafka, Kerouac and the ballads of Kurt Cobain.

But Dev D (Abhay Deol), unlike Devdas, isn't a blast from the past. Dev D is indeed a coming-of-age film, not merely for the protagonist, Devender Singh Dhillon, but it is a brilliant breakthrough for Bollywood too.

It really doesn't matter whether the film ends up as a box office scorcher. What matters is the fact that for the discerning viewer. Anurag Kashyap, however, gets even more adventurous and adds a progressive flourish to both the plot and the characters which are played to perfection by the three lead players.

If Mahi and Kalki are riveting new finds, assured of a long innings in cinema, then Abhay Deol adds a whole new meaning to the term `Unconventional Hero'. Dev D is the class act from the Deol who cleverly flew over the cuckoo's nest.

Dev D is purely a musical love story, with zany numbers like ‘emosanal atyachar', ‘saali khushi', ‘nayan tarse' and many more.

STOP

STOP is about four friends, three girls and a guy. The movie revolves around their lives as a unit and then steers off for an individual build-up. It's interesting in the beginning but before you know, it starts dragging. Songs are interspersed without need and plots lengthened, without any cause. The editor could have done with sharper scissors.

The star cast of the film are newcomer Rohit Bhatia, Dia Mirza, Tejaswini Kolhapure, Gauri Karnik, Ishita Arun, Kiran Janjani, Anupam Kher and Om Puri. The film is directed by Ajai Sinha.

The film attempts to be a modern day take on friendships amongst today’s youth. While the friendship chemistry amongst the four friends has come out naturally well and some small sequences and lines shared amongst them have come out very identifiable, the overall impact is missing.

Newcomer Rohit Bhatia makes a confident debut. Tejaswini Kolhapure impresses a lot despite having been badly presented. Ishita Arun and Gauri Karnik barely get scope to showcase their acting talents.

Dia Mirza in a small but important part is good. Harsh Chhaya is getting type cast in a lecherous boss roles. He has done similar type of parts earlier in Laga Chunari Mein Daag and Its Breaking News. Kiran Janjani fits the part. Himani Shivpuri, Om Puri and Anupam Kher lend able support as usual.

While the film may not exactly be worth a visit to the nearest multiplex, it isn’t that bad either and can be caught up on home video on one lazy Sunday afternoon to watch.

Zor Lagaa Ke Haiyaa-Pure Entertainer

99 keeps you engrossed in most parts. The only problem is, it's too slow-paced at times and lengthy too, towards the penultimate moments. Just when you thought that the film has ended, another chase follows, which eventually leads to the finale.

On the whole, 99 appeals in parts, more towards the second half. The film holds appeal for the youth and should find patronage from this faction of moviegoers at multiplexes mainly. 99 is smart, good looking and interesting, in parts. Quite a ride this, if you don't go with much expectations!

Videsh-It's a kitchen-sink drama

Heaven on Earth isn’t exactly the plight of protagonist in this film, rather completely contrary to it. The alternate Hindi title Videsh too misleads into the notion that Indian woman in NRI families are essentially victims of domestic violence, as is the theme of the film. It’s as difficult to relate the title with the treatment of this film.

It's difficult to describe just how good Preity Zinta is in her role as a battered young bride in director Deepa Mehta's Videsh. Preity Zinta playing Chand, a Punjabi girl who travels from her home in India to Canada for an arranged marriage. She marries Rocky (played by Vansh Bhardwaj) has little affection or sympathy for his new bride.

Homesick in foreign land and hopeless of affection from people around, Chand begins to fantasize another version of her life inspired from tales of Indian mythology about a King Cobra.

Deepa Mehta scores in establishing credible characters of the Canadian Punjabi family with members that are neither sugar-sweet nor melodramatically bitter. Everyone in the film are open witness to domestic violence and remain absolutely indifferent towards the act.

The film clearly loses its audience when metaphorical mythological concerns overpower the underlying theme of domestic violence. Rather the flick imparts shades of gray to the supposedly black victimizer. Preity Zinta delivered a career-best performance as Chand.

The pacing is lethargic and the story takes too long to kick-start. Cinematographer Giles Nuttgens intermittently applies black-and-white frames to highlight some scenes from others but follows no particular theme, making the exercise futile.

Preity Zinta delivered a career-best performance as Chand. Vansh Bharadwaj suffers from shallow characterization. Balinder Johal as the insecure mother and cold-blooded mother-in-law is efficient.

Heaven on Earth, a kitchen-sink drama turns into a hell of a viewing experience.

Sorry Bhai

Sorry Bhai is about the complexities of relationships seen and felt in real life. That subtle tug or snap in relationships when people are drawn towards or pulled away from each other. These very moments captured with a telling effect provide the soul to ‘Sorry Bhai’ even though the film gets a little too tangled in the second half.

At the centre of the movie is a slowly developing love story between a woman and the younger brother of the man she is about to marry. Sanjay Suri as Harsh is set to marry Aaliya (Chitrangada Singh). His family comprising of a young, shy scientist brother Siddharth ( Sharman Joshi ), a disapproving mom ( Shabana Azmi ) and a chilled-out dad ( Boman Irani ) come to Mauritius to attend the wedding. While Harsh doesn’t seem to have much time for his family, Siddharth and Aaliya develop a bond that turns into mutual attraction. The duo fights this attraction.

More than just a romantic story, ‘Sorry Bhai’ taps on the bonding between two brothers, and between the two women in the story. Shabana Azmi and Boman Irani who charm you completely with their crackling chemistry and their natural act as urbane parents.

In a movie like ‘Sorry Bhai’, it’s more appropriate to judge the actors’ job from viewpoint of the chemistry between them rather than individual performances. Sanjay Suri is relegated to the background for a substantial part, but he too gets his moments. Boman Irani is superb in a relatively smaller but homour-filled role.

The film, with its above average music and eye-pleasing cinematography, has a somewhat boring ending preceded by a couple of sequences where you feel the director either lost his grip over the plot or became too self-indulgent.

But at the end of the day, ‘Sorry Bhai’ gives you a faint smile and doesn’t make you feel sorry for the money and time spent on the flick.

Gulaal

The movie is a telling statement on the degeneration in the political structure both at the micro level of student politics and the macro level of power-hungry, who stop at nothing to realize their political ambitions. The movie casts Kay Kay Menon, Raj Singh Chaudhary, Mahi Gill, Jesse Randhawa, Aditya Shrivastava, Piyush Mishra, Mukesh Bhatt, Abhimanyu Shekhar Singh, Pankaj Jha, Deepak Dobriyal and Ayesha Mohan.

The film 'Gulaal' is all about love, rage, power and politics. It unfolds the story of an innocent college student Dilip (Raj Singh Chaudhary), who is pushed into politics.

‘Gulaal’ is essentially a character driven story that seems to get too verbose at places. The dialogues are expectedly sprinkled with expletives because the director wanted them to sound ‘real’. The cinematography by Rajeev Ravi is superb. Music and lyrics by Piyush Mishra are fascinating.

If there’s anything truly worth watching in ‘Gulaal’ it’s the performances by the ensemble of talented actors from Kay Kay Menon as the devious Dukey Bana to Deepak Dobriyal as his assistant or Mahi Gill as his mistress.

Newcomer Raj Singh Chaudhary has an unassuming persona and very well portrays the inner transformation of his character. Ayesha Mohan and Aditya Shrivastava as the brother sister duo are terrific in their individual performances.

All said, ‘Gulaal’ is a seething, simmering, but tortuously predictable tale of all that’s rotten in the system. The director has pooled all his anger and cynicism against the system and revealed it on the screen to be smacked at the faces of hapless viewers in the form of ‘Gulaal’.

Frankly, with Gulaal, Anurag Kashyap has once again proved himself; his versatile, prolific and ardent direction is utterly commendable.

Bipasha Basu plays the role of Simi who is a attractive, sizzling DJ. An independent woman, she has a mind of her own. Everything is hunky dory between Ray and Simi and the duo seem headed for a 'happily ever after' life.

As they say, with great power comes great responsibility and in Ray's case, also great danger. He must now face up to the dark side of reality and win not only against the evil forces but also against fate.

It's a smart new concept. The film tries to give you something new, but the lack of creative imagination while writing the screenplay, especially the second half, ends up making the film just about an average watch. Enter at your own risk.

Nagesh Kukunoor who gave us two back-to-back slices of inspirational cinema in Iqbal and Dor and then burned his hands with comedy Bombay To Bangkok now Nagesh enters a new zone with 8 x 10 TASVEER. Yet, 8 x 10 TASVEER goes wrong, horribly wrong.

8x10 Tasveer is the story of a young man with a unique supernatural gift of looking into the past of dead people. After all, if the hero needs adrenaline to stay alive, we need a shot of caffeine to stay awake. The film’s that bad.

So we have Jai (Akshay Kumar) living in with a girlfriend ( Ayesha Takia ) with whom he shares no apparent chemistry but whom he plans to marry. Jai has a unique gift of looking at people’s photographs and having a vision of the moments after the snap was clicked.

When Jai’s billionaire father (Benjamin Gilani) dies in an accident and a cranked-out detective ( Javed Jaffrey ) shows up and tries to convince Jai that his dead dad was murdered for wealth. This personal tragedy leads him to use his unique supernatural powers to unravel the mystery.

Armed with this photograph into which he keeps ‘going’ repeatedly, Jai digs deeper into the mystery even as the finger of suspicion keeps shifting from his mom and his uncle to two more characters close to his dad. There are so many gaps that remain wide open till the end.

Akshay pitches in a sincere performance. 8 x 10 TASVEER is a complete departure from the kind of films the actor is popular for and it only goes to prove that he's ready to experiment. Ayesha is natural. Sharmila Tagore is graceful. Jaaved Jaaferi is first-rate. Girish Karnad, Benjamin Gilani, Ananth Mahadevan and Rushaad Rana are perfect in their respective roles.

Nagesh Kukunoor seems to have completely lost it this time. As the writer and director of this sleep-inducing, ridiculously contrived film with half-baked subplots, he’s the one on whom the blame should fall squarely.

So many questions beg to be answered. If you are brave to sit awake through two-plus hours of banality. On the whole, 8 x 10 TASVEER disappoints. This tasveer is out of focus!

Aloo Chaat

Robby Grewal's Aloo Chaat is completely a comedy film. The film makes the viewers laugh at times. This film has a simple story told in a very simple way. The story of the film is interesting. The execution of the film brings back the memories of old film Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Mann Bhaye.

USA returned Nikhil (Aftab Shivdasani) belongs to an orthodox Punjabi family and falls in love with a Muslim girl Aamna (Aamna Shariff) while studying in the US. Nikhil feels hesitant to disclose about his love affair as he knows that his orthodox father Puroshottum (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) will never allow him to marry a girl of another religion.

Desperate to seek a solution, he takes help of his father's best friend Hakim (Manoj Pahwa). Together they plot to bring Nikhil's girlfriend (Aamna Sharif) into the family.

Director Robby Grewal deserves a huge applause for his treatment of the subject and his narrative structure. His choice of actors is bang on with each actor right from Aftab to even the Aloo Chaat seller fitting the bill perfectly.

Acting wise, Aftab has come back after a long gap. His acting is praiseworthy. Acting wise Aamna has a long way to go. Kulbhushan Kharbanda is excellent . Rest of the cast is appriciable. Aloo Chaat the film, is rich in masala. A real tangy chutney treat that you don’t want to miss. It is worth a watch movie.

Rakeysh Mehra's Ode-Delhi6

Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra is undoubtedly one of the finest storytellers that we have around. Delhi 6 is created out of a lot of love and a lot of pain, which comes across in the movie. The movie is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The movie was released on February 20, 2009. The film casts Abhishek Bachchan as Roshan, Sonam Kapoor as Bittu who played the lead roles.

The movie makes an interesting start as it introduces multiple characters telling multi-track storytelling. After all, the movie is just a short trip, with a bit of sight-seeing thrown in. The middle part of the movie is difficult to understand that what’s the central lead is all about. However, it resolves all above conflicts in a single-stroke climax.

The core theme appears to be similar like Swades. While the screenplay remains cheerful in the first half. The art direction decently recreates the Delhi set in Rajasthan studio but is confined to four lanes at the Chandni Chowk crossroads.

The better performances come from the character-artist cast of Deepak Dobriyal, Atul Kulkarni, Vijay Raaz, Pawan Malhotra and Om Puri. Rishi Kapoor is pleasing but his character is too short-lived.

Rakeysh Mehra has connected very well with the audiences through his mesmerizing storytelling in Rang De Basanti . Sadly, Delhi-6 is quite colourless in that contrast.

Also, the end of the film, somehow does not seem to settle very well. The film, is in short, Rakeysh Mehra's ode to Delhi.

Meri Padosan is a story of a struggling director Shyam Gopal Varma who who is neighbour of sweet couple Viju (Sanjay Mishra) and Kavita(Sadhika Randhawa). Shayam lives with his two friends Prem and aslam. By profession, Vijju is a clerk and Kavita take care of his home as a house wife. Both Vijju and Kavita live happily.

One day, Shayam sees a vacancy in newspaper for director.This vacancy is all about to give a story on which a movie can be made. Shayam gets haapy by read it. He goes to the channel company where several struggling director has already submitted their story. Shayam also submit his application. Now, he starts to think about the movie i.e what type of story would be and how is to be shoot? Suddenly, he sees outside of the window, where Vijju and kavita shows their love to each other. Shyam notices that there is a lovely chemistry going on between them and thinks that this can be a really nice story. So he starts working on the project with out telling to anybody. Then, few of turns come in his way which makes his condition more worst.
The movie has not great expectations from audience.

As the four months have been passed of the current year and many movies have been released in this four months. But Akshay Kumar's TASVEER 8X10 has proven to be a biggest flop of the year as yet. In the first week, film has gatherd less than 8 crores at the box office. If we compare this Nagesh Kukunoor film with some other movies that have released this year, it only paints a sorry picture. Only RAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES and DEV D has left the impact on the audience and become two successful films of the year so far. Tasveer 8X10 makes no impact at box office

Before the release of Tasveer 8X10, People had huge expectations with Akshay kumar starrer Tasveer 8X10 but the movie has failed to make impact at box office. With Tasveer 8X10, Akki makes hattrick of flop movies. Other two movies are Jumbo which was released in 2008 and Chandni Chowk to China released in earlier of this year.

With the movie Nagesh Kukunoor wanted to enter in new zone but unfortunetly he did not get success. Sakshi Mehra, president of the Motion Pictures Association of Delhi-Uttar Pradesh, said that the reaction to Tasveer 8X10 is not at all up to the mark. It is in fact very disappointing. Neither the public reaction nor the collections are good — considering the fact that it is an Akshay Kumar starrer and that it opened as a solo release over a long weekend due to Ram Navami.

The box office report for the movie says that the movie collects around 5-6 crores over the weekend and heading for a final collection of not more than 8-10 crores, making it a flop for superstar Akshay Kumar. A PVR official said that the collection of the movie is quite slow. Tasveer 8X10 is a movie of a guy who has got some supernatural power to see past. Other then akki, movie also stars Ayesha Takia, Sharmila Tagore, Javed Jaffery, Girish Karnad, Anant Mahadevan and Benjamin Gilani in pivotal roles.

“The film is dull and shatters all hopes from a director like Nagesh Kukunoor. People had high expectations from the film, as it was after a long gap that a big-budget movie was hitting the screens but it all went wrong,” said an industry source from Mumbai.

After the heart trob music of Fasion, music director Salim and Sulaiman again making their presence in new movie Tasveer 8x10 which is suspense thriller. The music album of the movie contains 10 numbers including 5 original numbers and 5 remix numbers.

The very first song of album is "Nazaara Hai" which sung by vishal (Vishal - Shekher). Irfan Siddiqui has written the lyrics of the song. This song gives the felling of rock music as the beats are some sort of high - low combination. The break in the song is the best part of the song.

'Haafiz Khuda' is the next song in the album Tasveer 8x10. This song is comperatively slow the first one. This song is sung by Mohit Chauhan and Tulsi Kumar. Again Irfan Siddiqui has given the words for the song. This song definatly gonna hit the chart busters.

Now, its time for Neeraj Shridhar who sung the next treck "Aaja Maahi". Tulsi Kumar also joins Neeraj in the song. The song gives the western flavour to its listener. The music of the song is pretty melodious.

Now, come to the title treck "I got a picture" which is sung by US hip hop artist Bohemia. It is the same way that is tried in Sing is king and Chandni Chowk to china. The song is complete combination of Hindi and English which gives the indian flaover with western fregnence.

Next and the last song in the album is "Kuch is Tarah" which is another slow song in the album sung by Mohit Chauhan. It gives the same feeling as Haafiz Khuda.

Apart from all songs, each song has its remix in the Tasveer 8x10. DJ Amyth has done four of them, and Bohemia has remixed his own song.

The story of the forthcoming movie resolves around a 14 year old boy Sikander raza who live in Kashmir. Sikander has lost his parents 10 years back. Now, after his parents, his uncle and aunt take care him. All Sikandar's desires revolve around the happiness of his foster parents and his fevourite sports Football. One day, on his way home from a school football match, Sikandar finds a gun lying on the path. Despite admonishments by his newly made school friend, the 14 year old Nasreen, Sikandar picks up the gun, and thus begins a journey into the darker side of his nature. Now, at this point movie brings twist in the story. The quiet yet strong Nasreen becomes Sikandar's conscience keeper. She tries to dissuade him from giving in to the lure of the gun. However, all is not what it seems. Sikandar gets embroiled further and further in situations beyond his control, and people get killed. At first it seems that the happenings occurring alongside Sikandar's predicament are not connected. But, as layer upon layer unravels, it becomes clear that Sikandar is the innocent victim in a game being played out between the militants, the army, the peace bartering politicians and the religious heads of the little Kashmiri town. As he discovers clues he realizes that his father was actually murdered and that everyone on the boat had a motive. Now on a mission to unmask the killer, he undertakes the dangerous journey of visiting the past repeatedly.

Story of Raaz - The mystery continues

The film essentially resolves around the central character Nandita, a top model that has everything going for her fame, money and a glamorous career. She is also in long term relationship with Yash, creative director of successful television show, Andhvishwas that rejects the notions of superstitions. His career reaches new heights after his television show completes 200 episodes and he cites Nandita as the woman behind his success and both of them decide to move in together right after and for that she is blissfully happy.

But her perfect life begins to unravel fast after the sudden appearance of a brooding artist, Prithvi who has started constantly stalking her. Nandita tries to distance herself with the disturbed man who obsessively paints her portraits but without much success. He tells her that her life might be in grave danger. Nandita feels threatened by his presence and begins experiencing horrible visions of the grotesque man. Nandita feels trapped in nightmare that threatens to claim her sanity, ruin her career and destroy her relationship.

Yash is frustrated by his girlfriends abnormal behaviour and tries to get her treated by psychiatrist because her abnormal behaviour could easily menace his career, where she claims to constantly be harrowed by flashes of images of. He is under immense pressure from his colleagues to leave her in order to be ridiculed by public and media. But Yash still stands with her and then Nandita takes decision to undergo treatment in order to resolve the problem. But soon, it becomes apparent to nandita to Nandita that her condition is not medical and that she in fact is trapped in a surreal world.

Now, fully confused Nandita finds herself totally isolated with no one to turn to for comfort. She finally decides to pay heed to prithvi's warnings and realizes that to get to bottom of the mystery. Prithvi helps her here and becomes her only companion in her dark pahase of life.

Now, both Nandita and Prithvi travels across the country to find the clue that they can piece together to comprehend the reason of nandita's involvement in this increasingly bizarre puzzle that involves multinational corporation as well as small villages. After swept the Golden Globes, Britain's Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire, comedy-drama about an orphaned boy of the streets whose life lessons pay off on a game show, has been got ten nominations across nine categories including Best Picture, Best Director, Adapted screenplay, Cinematography, Film editing, Sound editing, Sound mixing, Best Music and Best songs at 81st Academy Award on Thursday. Slumdog Millionaire got the second highest number of Oscar nominations Thursday at 81st Academy Award after David Fincher's "The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttton", has begged 13 nominations. Three Out of 10 nominations for Indian musician maestro A R Rahman for his original score and two songs composed by him. He got the nomination for two songs composed by him "O Saya" and "Jai Ho". There is already a strong buzz going around that after his Golden Globe win, Rahman will definitely be winning the coveted Oscar trophy.

"When we first began working on the film I don't think any of us ever imagined that we might end up attending the Oscars ceremony as a result," said Patel after hearing of the nominations. "I'm just so proud to be a part of this project and I have been overwhelmed by the positive reaction to the film," he said. Rahman, the film's composer, also expressed his appreciation for the nominations. "Slumdog Millionaire has paid magical dividends for so many people around the globe. I am deeply honoured to be a part of a film that has inspired so many," he said.

Slumdog Millionaire's Danny Boyle received his first nomination for best director, alongside Britain's Stephen Daldry for The Reader and Benjamin Button's Fincher. On getting nominate for Oscar Danny Boyle said "I am fantastically happy and honoured. Not just for myself but for Vikas Swarup's wonderful novel without which I would have never started my journey to the world's Maximum City, Mumbai". The heart-warming story Slumdog Millionaire won four Golden Globes earlier this month - for best picture, best director, best screenplay and best soundtrack - and has 11 Bafta nominations in total. This past weekend, the film climbed to number 10 on the North American box office chart and has grossed $44.2 million to date. It is currently the number one movie in Britain and releases in India Jan 23.

Two villagers go in the hunt of this re-born Liu Sheng which happens to be one staying in the famous Chandni Chowk of Delhi in India.

This bloke Siddhu (Akshay Kumar) in real is anything but their warrior they are in the look out for. Working in a paratha shop, as a vegetable cutter, the portly Siddhu is forever chasing dreams of a luxurious life without wanting to do hard work to achieve it. His foster father, Dada (Mithun) is fed up of his lethargic ways and always tries to make him realize his hidden potential.

The two Chinese villagers finally find Siddhu and with the help of a fraud Chinese astrologer Chopstick (Ranveer) manage to take him to their village in China. Chopstick too tags along as Siddhu’s translator. During the journey, Siddhu encounters Sakhi (Deepika Padukone) a popular model and falls for her instantly but soon his hopes come crashing as he comes across her lethal side of that of a thief.

But little does he know that its not Sakhi but her long lost twin Suzie aka Meow Meow (Deepika Padukone again) whom he has got confused with. What happens when Siddhu arrives in the remote Chinese village and how Hojo reacts to his arrival and what it leads to forms the rest of the film Chandni Chowk To China!

There had been lots of expectations raised from the slick promos of the film but unfortunately, the film doesn’t really end up being the joy ride it promises to be. The biggest flaw of CC2C lies in its predictable script which packs in all the 70s masala including lost and found, revenge drama, the triumph of good over evil just that the setting is changed from India to China.

Chandni Chowk To China begins well with a superbly shot fight on the wall of China but then the pace dips as Siddhu’s daily life is introduced. Then again post the interval any average cinegoer can predict what is in store at what intervals and there is where boredom starts creeping in.

You keep looking at your watch hoping it to end. Also, despite a good built up given to Hojo’s Kung Fu expertise and hopes raised about the one on one fight between him and Siddhu, the climax fight ends up being very short and disappointing.

Amongst the most redeemable factors about CC2C is Akshay Kumar. He makes you laugh, cry and cheer for him but then again he is let down by an average script.

But it’s a great treat watching Akshay going back in the action mode and doing some really breathtaking Kung Fu stunts. Deepika Padukone in a double role does well but the chemistry between her and Akki is clearly missing. Gordon Liu as the villain is simply superb. He manages to bring out terror just with a stare. Ranvir is good as usual whereas Mithun impresses in the few sequences that he gets.

The music of Chandni Chowk To China appears better when watching the songs onscreen as they have been very lavishly picturised, especially the title track. The film scores full marks on the technical front. But we wish we could say the same about the script!

The film Chandni Chowk To China is a must see for hardcore Akshay Kumar fans, for the rest well one can only say that if you want to get nostalgic about the 70s cinema with some humor mixed with it then going for this 2 hour 40 minutes film won’t be a bad idea. -Sampurn Media

Ghajini crosses Rs 200 cr mark

Ghajini, the biggest blockbuster of the year, has broke all the records in the history of Indian cinema. Its collection are increasing rapidly. On Wednesday, when booking for the movie opened at a theatre in UK, the film became the first to gross Rs 200 crore at the worldwide box office. It has grossed Rs. 162 crore in the domestic market and Rs 39 crore has come from overseas till Thursday.

Amod mehra, one of the trade consultant, said "Ghajini was very strong from day 1. it has been galloping like a one-horse race and in my estimate, it will cross the Rs 250 crore mark very easily." Bollywood producer Pankaj Kharbanda is also not surprised with the collection of Ghajini. He said "In the last year alone, there has been a 40% increase in cinema screens and also a rise in the cinema-going population. With most of the theatres recording good numbers on Ghajini, the 200 crore mark is hardly a surprise."

Ghajini released with the maximum numbers of prints in India and it made inroads for itself. A trade source said "Ghajini is set to take the mantle of the highest domestic bollywood earner from Anil sharma's Gadar - Ek Prem Katha." In the overseas market, the film is, till now, second only to Karan johar's Kabhi Alvida na Kehna. Ghajini has also earned Rs 4 crore from gaming rights, Rs 21 crore for satellite rights in India and overseas and something to the tune of Rs 10 crore for home video and music.

In Dev D, Abhay deol is playing a character of a Zamidar's son who name is Dev. He has a lovely friend as Paro (Mahi Gill). Paro and Dev love each other from the child hood. But the differences in status and caste make the prospect of their marriage impossible. After some time, Paro is married off to a rich but aged widower and Dev is sent to Culcutta. In culcutta Dev meets to Chandramukhi (Kalki) who is a prostitute. Paro helps him a lot. Ultimately Dev falls into a tragic cycle of excess due to an overpowering sense of remorse.

About Dev D Actor Abhay says "I thought Dev D was a perfect Romeo and Juliet to contemporaries and I wanted to fit into some issues which I felt are relevant and Anurag took it even further to a deeper level," . The music is given by Amit Trivedi. Most probably, Dev D would be in theaters in the month of February

Finally, debutant Rakesh Sarang directed movie Horn Ok Pleassss is set to hit the theaters on januuary 9, 2009. Earlier the release date for movie October 17, 2008 but due to recession and mumbai blast, date was posphoned. Abdol Samee Siddiqui produced Horn Ok Pleassss is a comedy drama genre movie which is hilarious love saga. Nana Pateker, Rimi Sen and model-turned-actor Muzammil Ibrahim are lead-role in the movie. Other starcasts in the film include Ali Asgar, Nirmiti Sawant, Mukesh Tiwari, Vrajesh Hirjee, Raakhi Sawant, Kunika and Satish Shah.

The story of Horn Ok Pleassss is all about a truck owner Govinda (Nana Pateker) who believes in love very munch and is madly in love with his wife Ria (Rimi Sen). But the story takes a turn as the Ajay (Muzammil Ibrahim), who is a photographer by profession, enters in their lives. Now, Ajay starts to fall in love with Ria who is already married to Govinda. Being a friend of Ajay, Govinda helps him to get his love without knowing who is the girl.

The buzz about the movie is that actress Rimi sen are playing a dual-role in Horn Ok Pleassss very first time. The another character of Rimi sen is Sia who is a twin sister of Ria. The twist is - Govinda the saviour does not know about Sia. And that's where begins a whole roller- coaster ride of hilarious sequences with more lovely-dovey characters joining in the fray. In Raaz - the mystery continues, Kangana Ranaut ia playing a character of Nandita who is a successful model. She is in love with Yash (Adhyayan Suman) who is a television director. Yash is a kind of guy who believes in religious superstitions and paranormal beliefs. But the story of movie takes a dramatic turn as Nandita meets Prithvi (Emraan Hashmi) who is playing a character of a artist. He tells Nandita that all her paintings made by him are getting disfigured with Nandita. Initially, she does not believe on him but after that she starts facing horrifying situations herself. As the new year start, bollywood welcome the new year by releasing its big budget movies. In the very first month of the year, Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone starrer Chandni Chowk to China is set to release on january 16, 2009. The movie is directed by Nikhil Advani who did well in Kal ho na ho.

Chandni Chowk to China is action-packed comedy movie as Akshay is in lead role in movie.This movie is produced by Hollywood studio Warner Brothers and Rohan Sippy. Movie is all about a simple cook from Chandni Chowk mistaken for a rebirth of an ancient peasant warrior by residents of an suppressed Chinese village. One of the sources said a "heavy dose of comedy and breathtaking locales" like the Great Wall of China were the highlights of the film apart from the Kung Fu.

it is the first time when akshay is sharing the screen with beautiful Deepika Padukone. The music Chandni Chowk to China is composed by Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy.
