After the grand success of Rang de basanti, Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is ready with his new movie DELHI 6. Delhi 6 will be Mehra's third directorial venture after AKS and Rang de Basanti. The movie is reportedly based on Mehra's growing up years in Chandni Chowk. The movie stars mainly Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Om Puri, Atul Kulkarni, and Divya Dutta.

Delhi 6 is story of Roshan ( Abhishek Bachchan) who is an NRI from US. He has Grand mother (Waheeda Rahmaan) who is ailing in her old age. She wants spend her last days of life in Chaandni Chwok where she was born. To fulfill Dadi's dream, Roshan comes to delhi with her grand mother where his life transformed. In Delhi, he meets with bittu (Sonam kapoor), a vivacious and bubbly girl, who comes from a conservative family and wants to free herself from the typical Indian social structure.

Delhi 6 is based on the childhood memories of director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The story is told against the backdrop of the ancient walled city of Delhi. The pin code of this old city is 110006. With pride and love it is called ‘Delhi-6’. The buzz about movie is that Amitabh Bachchan has a cameo appearance too. The music of the movie is composed by A R Rahmaan. The movie is set to release on February 20, 2009.

Billu Barber releases on 13 february

After the great success of "Rab ne bana di jodi", Bollywood king Shahrukh khan is going to hit the screen again in Billu Barber, directed by Priydarshan. Billu Barber tells the tale of a village barber and his childhood friend, a superstar. The movie stars Irrfan Khan , Lara Dutta , Asrani , Rajpal Yadav , Om Puri supported by Shahrukh Khan in a brief role.

Billu Barber is a story of a simple man Bilas Rao Pardesi aka Billu who is a barber by profession that why villagers call him as Billu Barber. Billu was living in his village with his wife Bindiya (Lara Dutta) and two great kids. But Billu is a kind of guy who has not been able to upgrade himself according to the changing trends.

One day, superstar Sahir Khan (Shahrukh Khan), who was once Billu's school friend, came into their lives and everything changed. Suddenly, Billu gets overwhelming response from all villagers and everybody wants him to meet superstar. But, he fears that the star may not recognize him. He makes many attempts to meet the star, but fails. After all these hardships, he gives up. Then, people insult him a lot for telling a lie to them about the friendship with superstar.

After the huge success of Raaz, the duo, Mahesh bhatt and Emraan hashmi, is trying to repeat the story of success by Raaz - 2. Story of Raaz - The mystery continues

The film essentially resolves around the central character Nandita, a top model that has everything going for her fame, money and a glamorous career. She is also in long term relationship with Yash, creative director of successful television show, Andhvishwas that rejects the notions of superstitions. His career reaches new heights after his television show completes 200 episodes and he cites Nandita as the woman behind his success and both of them decide to move in together right after and for that she is blissfully happy.

But her perfect life begins to unravel fast after the sudden appearance of a brooding artist, Prithvi who has started constantly stalking her. Nandita tries to distance herself with the disturbed man who obsessively paints her portraits but without much success. He tells her that her life might be in grave danger. Nandita feels threatened by his presence and begins experiencing horrible visions of the grotesque man. Nandita feels trapped in nightmare that threatens to claim her sanity, ruin her career and destroy her relationship.

Yash is frustrated by his girlfriends abnormal behaviour and tries to get her treated by psychiatrist because her abnormal behaviour could easily menace his career, where she claims to constantly be harrowed by flashes of images of. He is under immense pressure from his colleagues to leave her in order to be ridiculed by public and media. But Yash still stands with her and then Nandita takes decision to undergo treatment in order to resolve the problem. But soon, it becomes apparent to nandita to Nandita that her condition is not medical and that she in fact is trapped in a surreal world.

Now, fully confused Nandita finds herself totally isolated with no one to turn to for comfort. She finally decides to pay heed to prithvi's warnings and realizes that to get to bottom of the mystery. Prithvi helps her here and becomes her only companion in her dark pahase of life.

Now, both Nandita and Prithvi travels across the country to find the clue that they can piece together to comprehend the reason of nandita's involvement in this increasingly bizarre puzzle that involves multinational corporation as well as small villages. Soon, they are in desperate race against time to solve the mystery before as it claims as the next victim . Will nandita and prithvi uncover the mystery??

Aasma - sky is the limit

Aasam - sky is the limit is a story of a group which comprises of aspiring actors including Summi (Hrishitaa Bhatt), Dia (Nauheed Cyrusi), Bharat (Shub), Kartik (Hamid Khan), Malini (Mansi Dovhal) and Ranjit (Ravi Gossain). They all enjoy their life with a lot of fun. But somewhere, they realize dat this is not their cup of tea and they want more from their life. Oscar - Slumdog Millionaire with 10 noms

After swept the Golden Globes, Britain's Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire, comedy-drama about an orphaned boy of the streets whose life lessons pay off on a game show, has been got ten nominations across nine categories including Best Picture, Best Director, Adapted screenplay, Cinematography, Film editing, Sound editing, Sound mixing, Best Music and Best songs at 81st Academy Award on Thursday. Slumdog Millionaire got the second highest number of Oscar nominations Thursday at 81st Academy Award after David Fincher's "The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttton", has begged 13 nominations. Three Out of 10 nominations for Indian musician maestro A R Rahman for his original score and two songs composed by him. He got the nomination for two songs composed by him "O Saya" and "Jai Ho". There is already a strong buzz going around that after his Golden Globe win, Rahman will definitely be winning the coveted Oscar trophy.

"When we first began working on the film I don't think any of us ever imagined that we might end up attending the Oscars ceremony as a result," said Patel after hearing of the nominations. "I'm just so proud to be a part of this project and I have been overwhelmed by the positive reaction to the film," he said. Rahman, the film's composer, also expressed his appreciation for the nominations. "Slumdog Millionaire has paid magical dividends for so many people around the globe. I am deeply honoured to be a part of a film that has inspired so many," he said.

Slumdog Millionaire's Danny Boyle received his first nomination for best director, alongside Britain's Stephen Daldry for The Reader and Benjamin Button's Fincher. On getting nominate for Oscar Danny Boyle said "I am fantastically happy and honoured. Not just for myself but for Vikas Swarup's wonderful novel without which I would have never started my journey to the world's Maximum City, Mumbai". The heart-warming story Slumdog Millionaire won four Golden Globes earlier this month - for best picture, best director, best screenplay and best soundtrack - and has 11 Bafta nominations in total. This past weekend, the film climbed to number 10 on the North American box office chart and has grossed $44.2 million to date. It is currently the number one movie in Britain and releases in India Jan 23.

The Oscar awards, to be hosted by actor Hugh Jackman, will be announced on 22 February at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles which will televised on ABC.

Slumdog Millionaire in India on 23 jan

After winning four Golden Globe awards, Slumdog Millionaire, from acclaimed director Danny Boyle, is going to release in India on January 23, 2009. Although movie has already released in the US in November but in India it will be released in January. Part exhilarating love story, part eye-catching journey into the underbelly of the so called "maximum city" of Mumbai, part stirring tale of an everyman's triumph against a harsh, cynical world, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE is a visceral, action-packed Dickensian epic for the 21st century. At the heart of its exuberant storytelling lies the intriguing question of how any comes to know the things they know about life and love. Slumdog Millionaire star cast includes Dev Patel as Jamal Malik, Irfan Khan as police Inspector, Freida Pinto as Latika, Madhur Mittal as Salim and Anil kapoor as Prem Kumar in the lead role.

Slumdog Millionaire tells the story of a young man Jamal Malik from the slums of Mumbai who appears on a game show and exceeds people's expectations, arousing the suspicions of the game show host and of law enforcement officials. Police Inspector (Irfan Khan) interrogates the case of Jamal malik. Latika is Jamal's love for whom he participates in Game show. STORY :
A small village in China is terrorized by one cruel gang lord, Hojo (Gordon). Two villagers go in the hunt of this re-born Liu Sheng which happens to be one staying in the famous Chandni Chowk of Delhi in India.

This bloke Siddhu (Akshay Kumar) in real is anything but their warrior they are in the look out for. Working in a paratha shop, as a vegetable cutter, the portly Siddhu is forever chasing dreams of a luxurious life without wanting to do hard work to achieve it. His foster father, Dada (Mithun) is fed up of his lethargic ways and always tries to make him realize his hidden potential.

The two Chinese villagers finally find Siddhu and with the help of a fraud Chinese astrologer Chopstick (Ranveer) manage to take him to their village in China. Chopstick too tags along as Siddhu’s translator. During the journey, Siddhu encounters Sakhi (Deepika Padukone) a popular model and falls for her instantly but soon his hopes come crashing as he comes across her lethal side of that of a thief.



But little does he know that its not Sakhi but her long lost twin Suzie aka Meow Meow (Deepika Padukone again) whom he has got confused with. What happens when Siddhu arrives in the remote Chinese village and how Hojo reacts to his arrival and what it leads to forms the rest of the film Chandni Chowk To China!

There had been lots of expectations raised from the slick promos of the film but unfortunately, the film doesn’t really end up being the joy ride it promises to be. The biggest flaw of CC2C lies in its predictable script which packs in all the 70s masala including lost and found, revenge drama, the triumph of good over evil just that the setting is changed from India to China.

Chandni Chowk To China begins well with a superbly shot fight on the wall of China but then the pace dips as Siddhu’s daily life is introduced. Then again post the interval any average cinegoer can predict what is in store at what intervals and there is where boredom starts creeping in.



You keep looking at your watch hoping it to end. Also, despite a good built up given to Hojo’s Kung Fu expertise and hopes raised about the one on one fight between him and Siddhu, the climax fight ends up being very short and disappointing.

Amongst the most redeemable factors about CC2C is Akshay Kumar. He makes you laugh, cry and cheer for him but then again he is let down by an average script.

But it’s a great treat watching Akshay going back in the action mode and doing some really breathtaking Kung Fu stunts. Deepika Padukone in a double role does well but the chemistry between her and Akki is clearly missing. Gordon Liu as the villain is simply superb. He manages to bring out terror just with a stare. Ranvir is good as usual whereas Mithun impresses in the few sequences that he gets.

The music of Chandni Chowk To China appears better when watching the songs onscreen as they have been very lavishly picturised, especially the title track. The film scores full marks on the technical front. But we wish we could say the same about the script!

The film Chandni Chowk To China is a must see for hardcore Akshay Kumar fans, for the rest well one can only say that if you want to get nostalgic about the 70s cinema with some humor mixed with it then going for this 2 hour 40 minutes film won’t be a bad idea. -Sampurn Media

The story of Chandni Chowk To China is all about Siddhu who believes on everything except himself and his father figure Dada's best efforts. One day, his life takes a turn when two strangers from china claim him as a renascence of a war hero in the past and takes him to China. At the same time, Siddhu meets with chopstick, the devious translator who helps siddu on his journey.

42 Kms

Eastern Union Entertainment releases its most ambitious film - 42 KMS on January 23rd, 2009 across India. Movie is directed by Nisha Chainani who is the assistant of Rakesh roshan. 42 Kms has a decent starcast includes Mandira Bedi, Samir Dattani, Purab Kolhi, Bikram Saluja, Prashant Chainani, Nausheen Ali Sardar & Nauheed Cyrusi in main role and Dara singh, vivel vaswani in supporting role.The story of the movie resolves around a marathon race of 42 Kms. In the race, five different people participate as they have different reasons to participate. but same 42 KMS to run! It's an inspirational journey of perseverance and personal triumph.

First participant is Sanjana (Mandira Bedi), a housewife, whose life is limited to her sweet home, children and her husband. But above all, she realizes that she had become so complacent in her world that she forgot her true identity. To gain her identity back, she participate in 42 Kms race.

Second participant, Ravi Anand (Bikram Saluja), a businessman whose Life is not beyond deals, profits and collaborations. Work and success are the two things that make him turn-on. But suddenly his life drive him in a direction he never ever thought. Therefore to get his glory back, he participate in 42 Kms race.

Third participant, Raju (Purab Kohli) who is a son of a wealthy villager. Raju loves Sumitra (Mahima mehta) and wants to marry her but her father rejects a good for nothing bum such as Raju, he now has a challenge of proving his mettle, not to others, but to himself.

Fourth participant, Sanjeev (Sameer Dattani), a champion of football from Goa.but still far a way to become the greatest footballer in the country. But life has other plans for Sanjeev. After getting diagnosed for life threatening disease ,he is forced to withdraw from the team and later he takes up to run in the marathon to get back his lost glorious past.

Last and fifth participant is Mr. Sameer (Prashant Chainani), a young, handsome and charming guy. Blessed with looks and charisma, Sameer had earned an image of being a Casanova. but one day when he meets Divya (nauseed cyrusi), a simple honest girl and Sameer falls in love with Divya. But this time, his Casanova image that comes to haunt him. To prove he is in love, he has to run for the marathon of 42 Kms.

On the whole, movie 42 Kms is all about how this race change the life of above five people who are desperately want to prove themselves.

Kaash mere hote

Kaash mere hote is making the re-entry for Sneha ullal who was in Lucky opposite to Salmaan khan. Kaash mere hote is directed by B.H. Tharun Kumar. The story line of the movies being teenage attraction is not love. The movie consists huge starcast including Kumar Saahil, sneha ullal, Sanna Mirza, anupam kher, johney lever and rajesh khanna.

Kaash mere hote is a story of a married couple, Krish (Kumar Saahil) and Radhika (sneha ullal), who make up a very happy couple. Krish is a well known fashion photographer by profession and radhika also works in a departmental store. One day, krish gets a assignment in Mauritius for a magazine. For this, he shoots on the beaches and roads of Mauritius, where Piya (Sana Khan) first sees him and falls in love. But krish does not love her as he already in love with Radhika. then Piya tries everything to get her love in her life. However , her conviction is so great that Piya will kill everyone and anyone who will come in her way of love. If that's not all, she will also resort to black magic to get her love. Not much later one after another murders begin to occur in town. And this case is given to be solved by I.G. Danda (Johnny Lever), who tries to solve this mistry in his own way.

Ghajini crosses Rs 200 cr mark

Ghajini, the biggest blockbuster of the year, has broke all the records in the history of Indian cinema. Its collection are increasing rapidly. On Wednesday, when booking for the movie opened at a theatre in UK, the film became the first to gross Rs 200 crore at the worldwide box office. It has grossed Rs. 162 crore in the domestic market and Rs 39 crore has come from overseas till Thursday.

Amod mehra, one of the trade consultant, said "Ghajini was very strong from day 1. it has been galloping like a one-horse race and in my estimate, it will cross the Rs 250 crore mark very easily." Bollywood producer Pankaj Kharbanda is also not surprised with the collection of Ghajini. He said "In the last year alone, there has been a 40% increase in cinema screens and also a rise in the cinema-going population. With most of the theatres recording good numbers on Ghajini, the 200 crore mark is hardly a surprise."

Ghajini released with the maximum numbers of prints in India and it made inroads for itself. A trade source said "Ghajini is set to take the mantle of the highest domestic bollywood earner from Anil sharma's Gadar - Ek Prem Katha." In the overseas market, the film is, till now, second only to Karan johar's Kabhi Alvida na Kehna. Ghajini has also earned Rs 4 crore from gaming rights, Rs 21 crore for satellite rights in India and overseas and something to the tune of Rs 10 crore for home video and music.

After the huge success of ROCK ON, bollywood Rocker Farhan Akhtar is ready to set the pulse racing again in his new bollywood movie luck by chance. Luck By Chance is directed by Debutant Zoya Akhtar who is Farhan's sister. The movie boasts of a huge star cast including Hrithik Roshan, Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadi, Isha Shravani play the lead role.

The story of Luck by chance resolves around struggling actor Vikram Jaisingh (Farhan Akhtar) who comes to Mumbai from Delhi to fulfill his dream.During this struggle phase, he faces many problems but he gets some helping hands from his friends. There are more characters in the movie like Rolly (Rishi Kapoor) who is a successful punjabi producer though superstitious producer who only works with the biggest stars. Sona (Konkona Sen Sharma) is also a straggler who shares the relationship with Vikram. Dimple Kapadia is also playing a character of 70's superstar who's name is neena. The special thing about the movie is Hrithik Roshan who is playing a character of Superstar Zaffar Khan.

Preview - Dev D

Dev D is an upcoming movie in the year 2009 which is a Romantic Drama film written and directed by Anurag Kashyap as a modern day take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's classic novel Devdas. Dev D is a modern version of old Devdas where plastic money like ATM debit and Credit cards play more important role than hard cash, there is advance mode of communication technology like mobile, internet chatting instead of traditional means like telegrams. The star cast of Dev D includes Abhay Deol, Kalki and Mahi Gill. Dev D is produced by Ronnie Screwvala.

In Dev D, Abhay deol is playing a character of a Zamidar's son who name is Dev. He has a lovely friend as Paro (Mahi Gill). Paro and Dev love each other from the child hood. But the differences in status and caste make the prospect of their marriage impossible. After some time, Paro is married off to a rich but aged widower and Dev is sent to Culcutta. In culcutta Dev meets to Chandramukhi (Kalki) who is a prostitute. Paro helps him a lot. Ultimately Dev falls into a tragic cycle of excess due to an overpowering sense of remorse.

About Dev D Actor Abhay says "I thought Dev D was a perfect Romeo and Juliet to contemporaries and I wanted to fit into some issues which I felt are relevant and Anurag took it even further to a deeper level," . The music is given by Amit Trivedi. Most probably, Dev D would be in theaters in the month of February

Prelude : Horn Ok Pleassss

Finally, debutant Rakesh Sarang directed movie Horn Ok Pleassss is set to hit the theaters on januuary 9, 2009. Earlier the release date for movie October 17, 2008 but due to recession and mumbai blast, date was posphoned. Abdol Samee Siddiqui produced Horn Ok Pleassss is a comedy drama genre movie which is hilarious love saga. Nana Pateker, Rimi Sen and model-turned-actor Muzammil Ibrahim are lead-role in the movie. Other starcasts in the film include Ali Asgar, Nirmiti Sawant, Mukesh Tiwari, Vrajesh Hirjee, Raakhi Sawant, Kunika and Satish Shah.

The story of Horn Ok Pleassss is all about a truck owner Govinda (Nana Pateker) who believes in love very munch and is madly in love with his wife Ria (Rimi Sen). But the story takes a turn as the Ajay (Muzammil Ibrahim), who is a photographer by profession, enters in their lives. Now, Ajay starts to fall in love with Ria who is already married to Govinda. Being a friend of Ajay, Govinda helps him to get his love without knowing who is the girl.

The buzz about the movie is that actress Rimi sen are playing a dual-role in Horn Ok Pleassss very first time. The another character of Rimi sen is Sia who is a twin sister of Ria. The twist is - Govinda the saviour does not know about Sia. And that's where begins a whole roller- coaster ride of hilarious sequences with more lovely-dovey characters joining in the fray. Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut and Adhyayan Suman starrer Razz - the mystery continues is based on the myths and superstitions that are still widely existent in the contemporary Indian society and it attempts to challenge one's beliefs about extrasensory thing. The movie is all about the issue of the evil within, highlighting prevalent superstitions and myths in Indian society.

In Raaz - the mystery continues, Kangana Ranaut ia playing a character of Nandita who is a successful model. She is in love with Yash (Adhyayan Suman) who is a television director. Yash is a kind of guy who believes in religious superstitions and paranormal beliefs. But the story of movie takes a dramatic turn as Nandita meets Prithvi (Emraan Hashmi) who is playing a character of a artist. He tells Nandita that all her paintings made by him are getting disfigured with Nandita. Initially, she does not believe on him but after that she starts facing horrifying situations herself. After this, hell breaks loose and an unstoppable storm begins. Some of the most thrilling horror sequences unfold thereafter.

The buzz about raaz - the mystery continues is that it is the most expensive horror film in Bollywood history. The film is directed by Mohit Suri and produced by the one and only Mahesh Bhatt. The music is already getting popular on chartbuster. The film is a sequel to the Dino Morea- Bipasha Basu hit starrer Raaz that released in 2002. But the producers are fiercely denying all this by saying that the film is an original.
