Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!

Oye lucky, lucky Oye is new release comedy-movie in the week from the makers of "KHOSLA KA GHOSLA". The film starring Abhay Deol as Lucky, Neetu Chandra as sonal and Paresh Rawal in lead roles is directed by Dibakar Banerjee. In the movie, Paresh Rawal plays 3 different roles as Lucky's Father, Gogi Bhai and Dr. Handa.

The story of movie Oye lucky, lucky Oye resolves around Lucky Singh who plays a lovable thief, someone who even the Delhi police are extremely fond of. He is from the inner city of Delhi who is like any ordinary middle-class boy with aspirations to fame and money. He chooses the not-so-legal route of attaining these - stealing. He is however, no ordinary thief; for him, stealing is an art and he enjoys perfecting his art with every assignment. His motto is 'Kamaao to zero, churaao to hero.' The film Oye lucky, lucky Oye is about him and his rise from a middle-class boy to one of the most-wanted thieves in Delhi. As a kid, there is little at home for Lucky except an alienated family and a dysfunctional relationship with his violent, bullying father. He is a keen observer of the world around him from his immediate surroundings his friends, dropouts, delinquents, petty criminals to the world he aspires to. Lucky comes from a dysfunctional family where he suffers the rage of his abusive father (Paresh Rawal). He chooses to focus on the lives of the rich kids around him who are blessed with all the material goods you can imagine - money, cars, gadgets etc. His strong point are his intelligence and lovably which he uses to its full impact and helps him to become more famous.

As his fame increases, he is approached by Gogi bhai (Paresh Rawal) who is a local gang leader who is a bandwallah by day. Gogi Bhai – a flamboyant musical bandleader who’s also a fence for stolen goods. A man who becomes a surrogate father. Now, Lucky rapidly rises to become Gogi’s star operator. Through him Lucky meets a host of characters who will define who he will become including Dolly, Gogi’s aggressive, hard bitten star dancer and her college going, quiet younger sister Sonal with whom he begins a tentative romance. Lucky’s journey develops him into a flamboyant playboy who now wants more than just the riches. Now he needs the respectability, the social standing of a city gentleman. Without sacrificing that reckless freedom he cherishes - the duality of having the freedom to steal.

As the makers of film Oye lucky, lucky Oye say themselves, this is only half the story, with the other half trying to figure out why a wealthy thief who has a long list of stolen riches on his name, wants to steal a teddy bear, a greeting card and a family portrait playing in the snow. The film is directed by Dibakar Banerjee of Khosla ka Ghosla fame, and music is by Sneha Khanwalkar. Sneha Khanwalkar has composed numbers that are heavily influenced by Punjabi music and beats for this interestingly titled film.
