Ghajini - Biggest Blockbuster 2009

Finally, Aamir has proved himself one more time through his new blockbuster "GHAJINI". Ghajini has broken all previous records. Ghajini emerged as the biggest opener of all time. The film has grossed Rs. 20 cr. net in its first two days. The collections of Ghajini is world-shaking. According to movie distributor Studio 18 "The film collected approx. Rs. 1.6 cr. net in paid previews, approx. Rs. 8.25 cr. nett on limited screens and shows (on Thursday) and approx. Rs. 10.15 cr. net (on Friday)".

In very first week, Ghajini collected approx. Rs. 42 cr. nett (approx. Rs. 70 cr. gross) in India, which is an all-time record. Second week is also going on-cloud as 70-80% collection has been already made as yet in second week of release. Not only in India but also in overseas collections are very high. Ghajini has fetched an overwhelming start in America and Australia and despite a 15 certificate, is impressive in U.K. Ghajini has ranked at No. 7 position in UK and in its opening weekend, it has collected approx. Rs. 2.24 crores on 49 screens. This is the over-whelming response in overseas for the action-pack movie. While, in US, Ghajini has debuted at No. 21 position. In its first week, the film has collected approx. Rs. 6.72 crores on 82 screens.

All these earth-shattering figures add up to only one fact that Ghajini seems to be all set for delivering huge record at the box office that might very soon make it the biggest blockbuster of the year 2009.
