Aasam - sky is the limit is a story of a group which comprises of aspiring actors including Summi (Hrishitaa Bhatt), Dia (Nauheed Cyrusi), Bharat (Shub), Kartik (Hamid Khan), Malini (Mansi Dovhal) and Ranjit (Ravi Gossain). They all enjoy their life with a lot of fun. But somewhere, they realize dat this is not their cup of tea and they want more from their life. So they set a mission : a mission to touch the sky with their brilliance and sheer dedication. Aasma is a story of the people and for the people who have faith in spite of the agonies and tribulations that life presents to each of them. Along their mission, they face a lot of hardships, when their main sponsor (Sachin Khedekar) backs out. They try to pool in resources, but in the midst of it all, the protagonist is diagnosed with HIV. Through their insecurities, anxieties and dilemmas they find that friendship and dedication leads them to newer heights, beyond the darkness that temporarily blinds each of them.
Aasma is a youth based movie which represents how can youth express their view towards the whole world? Although, movie is being released alongside two major films RAAZ- THE MYSTERY CONTINUES... and the award winning and Oscar nominated SLUMDOG MILLIONARE. But still, Director Rohit Nayyar is hoping that their film will be appreciated by India. Apart from the storyline, music of Aasma is quite good that is composed by Afsar-Sajid. On the whole, Aasma personifies the saying- where there is a will, there is a way. Aasma hits the theatres on january 23, 2009.
